Objective: This study aims to identify the intellectual structure and key trends of research related to schools and autism by analyzing the key terms in these studies. Method: The data were analyzed using the NetMiner program to conduct a social network analysis of the key terms. Results: As a research data, 294 studies with the keyword ‘school-autism’ were selected from the Korean Citation Index (KCI) from September 2003 to September 2023 for analysis. The study results showed that 94 studies were published in the past 10 years, and 200 in the most recent 10 years, indicating an increase in the quantity of research. Keywords with high degree centrality included student (0.083), intervention (0.067), school (0.047), behavior (0.040), and autism (0.041). Significant thematic changes in the research were not identified. Conclusion: The trends in school-autism research from 2003 to 2023 showed little change. Furthermore, the social network analysis effectively captured the key terms and research trends related to ‘school-autism.’ It is expected that the findings of this study can serve as a reference for academic research and policy development.
