Development of a Practical Arts Education Program Utilizing School-designed Autonomous Hours in the 2022 Revised Curriculum - Learning in the Garden

본 연구의 목적은 2022 개정 교육과정에 따라 초등학교 학교자율시간에 활용할 수 있는 실과 정원교육 프로그램 <정원에서 공부해요>를 개발하는 것이다. 본 연구는 정원교육의 의미와 교육적 가치, 그리고 다양한 국내외 정원교육 사례를 분석하여, 효과적인 프로그램 설계의 기초 자료를 마련하였다. 프로그램은 총 6가지 주제(도구, 씨앗, 열매, 채소, 정원과 환경, 원예치료)로 구성되어 있으며, 각 주제는 지식·이해, 과정·기능, 가치·태도를 포함한 체계적인 내용 요소로 구성되었다. 프로그램 준비 단계에서는 정원교육의 필요성과 프로그램 방향성을 설정하였고, 개발 단계에서는 학습 목표 및 내용체계, 성취기준, 교수학습 방법, 평가 방법을 세부적으로 설계하였다. 또한, 프로그램의 교수학습 방법은 체험 중심의 학습, 협동학습 및 프로젝트 기반 학습을 포함하여 학생들이 능동적으로 참여할 수 있도록 설계되었다. 평가 방법은 형성 평가, 총괄 평가, 자기 평가, 동료 평가, 포트폴리오 평가 등으로 구성되어 학생의 지속적인 학습과 성장 지원에 중점을 두었다. <정원에서 공부해요> 프로그램은 학생들에게 자연과의 깊은 연결을 경험하게 하고, 생태적 감수성과 공동체 의식을 함양하는 데 기여할 것이다.

This study aims to develop a practical garden education program, <Learning in the Garden>, for use during School-designed Autonomous Hours activities in elementary schools, aligned with the 2022 revised curriculum. For program design, the study analyzed the meaning and educational value of garden education and reviewed various domestic and foreign garden education programs. The Learning in the Garden program consists of 6 topics, namely tools, seeds, fruits, vegetables, gardens and the environment, and horticultural therapy. Each topic includes systematic content elements, including knowledge, understanding, process and function, and values and attitudes. The preparation stage sets its necessity and direction, followed by a detailed design of learning goals and content systems, achievement standards, teaching and learning methods, and evaluation methods in the development stage. The program’s teaching and learning method focused on active student participation through experience-oriented learning, cooperative learning, and project-based learning. The evaluation consisted of formative, general, self, peer, and portfolio evaluation, focusing on supporting students’ continuous learning and growth. The <Learning in the Garden> program will allow students to connect with nature and contribute to cultivating ecological sensitivity and a sense of community.
