Effect of Firm ESG Disclosure on Corporate Financial Performance and Firm Value

최근 몇 년간 기업의 사회적 책임과 지속가능성에 대한 관심이 증가하면서 ESG 요소들이 기업 경영에 미치는 영향이 강조되고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 한국 물류기업의 ESG 공시가 기업의 재무성과 및 시장가치에 미치는 영향을비교 분석하여, 사회적 가치 창출과 재무적 이익 극대화를 위한 전략적 시사점을 제공하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 본 연구는 Bloomberg ESG Disclosure Score를 활용하여 2010∼2023년 한국 물류기업을 대상으로 ESG 공시가 재무성과 및 시장가치에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 분석 결과, ESG 공시 점수가 높은 기업들은 재무성과와 시장가 치에서 모두 유의미한 성과를 보였다. 또한, 기업의 ESG 공시의 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이 결과를 통해 알 수 있는 것처럼 ESG 공시는 재무성과와 시장가치 모두에 긍정적 영향을 미쳐 기업 경영의필수 요소임을 시사한다. 물류 기업의 ESG 공시의 효과 차이는 국가별 맞춤형 ESG 전략 수립의 중요성을 강조하며, 한국에서는 ESG 공시를 통해 재무적 성과를 극대화할 방안을 모색할 필요가 있다

Corporate social responsibilityand sustainability has increasingly emphasized the impact of ESG factors on corporate management in recent years. maximizing financial benefits and creating social value in this context, this study comparatively analyzed the impact of ESG disclosures on Korean logistic companies’ financial performance and market value during 2010-2023. ESG disclosure was measured via Bloomberg's ESG Disclosure Score. The analysis revealed that companies with higher ESG disclosure scores had significantly greaterfinancial outcomes and market value. Furthermore, ESG disclosures had a notable effect on financial performance. Thus, ESG disclosures are a critical element of corporate management. Finally, the varying effects of ESG disclosure on logistics companies highlight the need for country-specific ESG strategies.
