Effects of Acupotomy for Trigger Finger: A Case Report

Objectives The purpose of this case study is to report effects of acupotomy on pa- tients with trigger finger. Methods Two patients with trigger finger were treated with acupotomy once or twice. The patient complained of typical symptoms of snapping and locking. Quinnell’s classification of triggering, Evluation of Tanaka score and Numeric rating scale were used to evaluate trigger finger. Results After 1 to 2 treatments, Quinnell’s classification of tringgering, Evluation of Tanaka, and Numeric rating scale score decreased. Conclusions This case study reports that acupotomy may improve symptoms of trigger finger.
