항공우주산업 ESG 공급망 과제와 대응 방안 : 항공 부품 제작기업을 중심으로

ESG Challenges and Response Strategies in Aerospace Supply Chain : Focusing on Aerospace Component Manufacturers

[연구목적] 기업의 ESG 공시 의무화가 진행되는 상황 속에서 글로벌 항공우주산업 생태계 내 주도기업들의 ESG 공시 참여가 확대되고 있으며, 항공우주산업의 ESG 공급망에 대한 중요성이 강조되고 있다. 이러한 환경 속에서 본 연구는 국내 항공 부품 제작 중소기업을 중심으로 항공우주산업의 ESG 공급망에 대한 현 수준을 진단하고 분석하여 지속가능한 항공우주산업의 ESG 공급망 대응 방안을 제시한다. [연구방법] 구체적으로 항공 부품 제작 중소기업의 ESG 경영 실태 진단을 통해 항공우주산업의 ESG 공급망 실사 대응 수준을 확인하여 각 분야별로 미흡한 영역을 도출한다. 분석 결과를 토대로 국내 항공우주산업의 ESG 공급망 대응을 위한 내부적인 개선방안과 외부적인 지원 방향에 대해 고찰한다. [연구결과] 국내 항공우주산업의 ESG 공급망에 대한 인식과 준비 수준은 초기적인 단계로 나타났다. 특히 환경 분야가 가장 미흡한 수준을 보이고 있으며, 지배구조와 사회 분야 순으로 취약함이 확인되었다. 따라서 환경 분야의 세부 미흡한 영역에 우선순위를 두고 ESG 공급망 실사에 대응하는 조직적 전략 구축에 대한 내부 개선이 필요하다는 결과를 도출하였다. 또한 중소기업의 재정적·자원적 한계를 고려하여 산업 및 정부 지자체의 인프라 구축과 같은 적극적인 외부 지원체계가 필요함을 확인하였다. [연구의 시사점] 본 연구는 항공 부품 제작산업 중소기업의 ESG 공급망 대응 필요성을 강조하고, 구체적인 개선책을 제안함으로써 지속가능한 항공우주산업 공급망을 위한 선도적인 연구 기반을 제시한다. 또한 항공우주산업의 내·외부 이해관계자들에게 ESG 공급망 체계의 필요성과 대응 방향에 대한 시사점을 제공한다.

[Purpose] In the context of the mandatory requirement on ESG disclosure for companies, there is an expansion of ESG disclosure participation among leading global aerospace industry companies and the importance of ESG supply chains is being emphasized. This study aims to provide a strategic improvement in response to ESG supply chain in the aerospace industry by analyzing the current level of ESG supply chains, focusing on small and medium-sized enterprises(SMEs) manufacturing the aerospace components. [Methodology] The study assesses the level of ESG compliance within the aerospace supply chain by examining the current state of ESG among the SMEs and identifies the weak elements for improvement. The study explores internal improvement strategies and external support measures to enhance ESG supply chain within the domestic aerospace industry. [Findings] The study concluded that the awareness and preparation level for ESG supply chains in the aerospace industry are at an early stage. Environment(E) was found to be the most lacking, followed by Governance(G) and Social(S). Consequently, it was determined that prioritizing (E) is required by establishing strategies to prepare ESG supply chain. Due to the limitations of SMEs in terms of the financial and human resources, the concrete external support from the industry and government authorities are strongly needed. [Implications] This study provides a leading research foundation for the sustainable aerospace industry supply chain and the aerospace component manufacturers by emphasizing the necessity of ESG supply chain preparations with specific improvement measures. It also provides insights into the necessity of ESG supply chain system and strategic directions for internal and external stakeholders in the aerospace industry.
