청주국제공예공모전에 나타난 한국 현대 생활 도예의 특성 연구

A Characterization of Korean Contemporary Living Ceramics at the Cheongju International Craft Competition

본 연구는 청주국제공예공모전에 출품된 한국 현대 생활 도예 수상 작품을 분석하여 한국 현대 생활 도예가 가지는 특성을 제안하는 데 연구의 목적이 있다. 이에 대한 연구 결과는 ‘계승과 창조의 융합’, ‘조형적 선의 율동미’, ‘감정적 내포의 재현’의 세 가지 특성으로 정리할 수 있다. 첫째, ‘계승과 창조의 융합’은 전통 기법과 현대적 기술, 재료의 다양성, 문화의 융합을 기반으로 한국 도예의 정체성을 현대적으로 재해석하는 방식으로 나타났다. 둘째, ‘조형적 선의 율동미’는 주로 유려한 선과 리듬감 있는 형태의 변화, 그리고 유약의 세부 처리를 통해 소박하면서도 생동감 있는 미적 감각을 더했다. 셋째, ‘감정적 내포의 재현’은 단순한 형태를 넘어, 다양한 재료와 기법을 활용하여 작가의 내면적 정서와 경험을 반영하는 도구로 실용성과 심미성의 조화, 은유의 상징적 기호, 일상적인 형태와 미적 경험으로 재현되었다. 이렇듯 청주국제공예공모전에 나타난 한국 현대 생활 도예는 전통적 기법을 계승하면서도 개인적 스타일을 중시하며, 단순한 모방을 넘어 문화적 맥락 안에서 새로운 예술적 가치를 창출함으로써 한국 현대 도예의 발전과 변화에 중요한 역할을 하고 있음을 파악할 수 있다.

This study analyzes Korean contemporary Living Ceramics exhibited at the Cheongju International Craft Competition to identify their key characteristics: 'Fusion of Succession and Creation,' 'Rhythmic of Formative Lines,' and 'Representation of Emotional Implication.' The Fusion of Succession and Creation' modernizes Korean ceramic identity by combining traditional techniques with contemporary technology, materials, and cultural integration. The 'Rhythmic of Formative Lines' is expressed through fluid lines, rhythmic curves, and glaze detailing for a rustic, dynamic aesthetic. The 'Representation of Emotional Implication' uses diverse materials and techniques to reflect the artist's inner emotions, balancing function, symbolism, and aesthetic experience. These ceramics demonstrate a balance of tradition and innovation, emphasizing personal style and supporting the evolution of Korean contemporary ceramics.
