Achieving spiritual independence is a historical conclusion drawn from the century-long struggle of the Communist Party of China (CPC), a time-honored tradition of the Chinese nation, and a fundamental principle for founding and governing the Party and the country. The CPC's adherence to spiritual independence spans the periods of the New Democratic Revolution, the Socialist Revolution and Construction, the Reform and Opening-up and Socialist Modernization, as well as the New Era of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics. It has undergone a historical process of shaping, expanding, strengthening, and sublimating in four dimensions: self-awareness, self-confidence, self-reliance, and self-improvement. Through practical exploration, the CPC has continuously achieved spiritual independence.
