The Otaku culture, which admires Japanese Games/Animation represented by Wapanese culture, has been reborn as a content tourism culture called ‘Stage Exploration’ and ‘Pilgrimage’ by combining with tourism. This study examines the combination of Pilgrimage Culture and Local Communities, focusing on 「Higurashi: When They Cry」 and 「Mountain of Faith」, which are based on Japanese mythology among Doujin games. Through analysis, the study confirmed that the modern use of mythical creatures such as Oni from Japanese legends and the conflict between Amatsukami and Kunitsukami from the Japanese creation myth were recreated, and this was confirmed through Shirakawa-go in Kifu and Suwa Grand Shrine in Nagano, which are the backgrounds of the games. The local communities also actively accepted the images created by Doujin games and accepted them as a new identity for the region, as confirmed through Google Trend. Korean content including Netflix’s squid game can also be combined with local communities to be utilized as new tourism resources, and it suggests that content tourism can be a new way to explore for local tourism development.
