조선의용대 신편 전방지대의 중일전장 배치와 공작구역 변동

The dispatch of the front unit of Korean Volunteers Army and the alterations to the operational zone

1939년 11월 조선민족혁명당 직계의 조선의용대 제1구대는 제1지대 북진분대와 제3지대로 확대 개편되어 ‘華北敵後’와 ‘華中’ 두 전장에 파견되었다. 조선의용대의 대본부는 조선민족혁명당 신편 전방지대를 남·북 전장에 나누어 배치하고 서로 다른 임무를 부여함으로써 한국민족운동과제와 중국항전과제 사이의 균형을 유지하고자 했다. 그러나 대본부의 이러한 공작구역 배치 구상은 현지 전황의 변동과 중국 군정당국의 조선의용대원 동원으로 인해 원래의 계획에서 크게 변경되었다. 그 결과 조선민족혁명당 계열의 신편 전방지대는 ‘華北’· ‘華中’·‘華南’ 등 세 구역으로 분산되었고, 한국민족운동과제로 설정된 한인포섭임무도 단기간 내에는 실현할 수 없게 되었다. 하지만 대본부는 그 이후에도 한국민족운동과제의 이행을 위해 지속적인 노력을 기울여 각 전방단위지대의공작구역 조정을 시도했다. 그 결과 1940년 중반 이후 3개의 조선민족혁명당신편지대 가운데 2개 단위가 한인포섭 임무를 부여받고 후방으로 복귀했다. 이와 같은 조선민족혁명당 계열 신편지대의 공작구역 변동은 조선의용대 내부의활동 방향과 노선이 중국항전과제와의 병행, 균형 추구에서 한국민족운동과제강화로 기울어졌음을 보여주는 중요한 징표라 할 수 있다.

The First Squad of the Korean Volunteer Army, was expanded to two independent squad, which were respectively sent to 'Enemy occupied territory of “Huabei” and “Huazhong”. The headquarters of KVA aimed to maintain a balance between the tasks of Korean National Movements and the tasks of the Chinese National Revolution by distributing the newly established forward units across the southern and northern fronts and assigning them with different missions. However, this strategic deployment plan was altered due to fluctuations in the local battlefields situation and the mobilization plan by the Chinese authorities. As a result, the newly established forward units were dispersed into “Huabei”, “Huazhong” and “Huanan”. Nevertheless, the headquarters continued to make sustained efforts to implement the tasks of the Korean national movement and attempted to adjust the operational zones of each forward unit. This Change in the operational zones of the newly established units serves as a significant indicator of the internal shift in the activities and direction of Korean Volunteers Army.
