As the number of pet owners has increased, so has the number of people who consider their pets part of the family, which naturally leads to a variety of problems. Such as animal abandonment and bites, but among these issues, this study focuses on Pet Loss Syndrome, which is the psychological distress and grief caused by the loss or death of a pet. The loss of a pet is an inevitable part of pet ownership, and since pets have a much shorter life cycle than humans, most pet owners will experience their loss or death. That's why this study is designed to help us better understand pet-loss syndrome, and we can see how pet-loss syndrome affects an individual's emotions, cognition, and physical health, and how it can be healed and restored. Furthermore, this study explores the role of animal health technician and their potential to expand their roles beyond simply assisting veterinarians in the nursing or treatment of animals, in the hopes that they can play an important role in providing psychological support and recovery to pet owners who are experiencing loss of pet. This is because the role of animal health technician is becoming increasingly important in veterinary clinics, where pet loss, such as euthanasia and end-of-life situations are common, and they are in a unique position to support pet owners through the grieving process. It is hoped that this study such as this will further strengthen the expertise of animal health technician and expand their role, which in turn will enable them to provide effective support in the response to the pet-loss syndrome phenomenon.
