사이버불링의 남녀별 주 위험요인과 도덕성의 완충작용

A Gender Difference in the Buffering Effect of Morality in Influencing of Two Risk Factors on Cyberbullying

이 연구는 사이버불링의 원인 모색에 있어 두 주요 위험요인으로 사이버불링의 피해와 사이버불링친구와의 차별접촉을 사용 하고, 또한 그 작용이 남녀별로 상이한지를 다뤄 남성에게는 불링피해가 그리고 여성에서는 불링친구의 영향력이 큰지를 검증했 다. 아울러 그러한 두 요인의 작용에서 주 통제요인으로 도덕성의 완충작용을 검증함에 있어 사이버불링피해와 도덕성, 그리고 불링친구와의 차별접촉과 도덕성과의 상호작용효과가 남녀에 따라 차이가 있는지를 다뤘다. 서울시 대학생 256명 대상의 조사 결과 본 연구에서는 남녀 모두에서 사이버불링피해와 불링친구와의 차별접촉이 주요 원인이 된다는 것을 제시했다. 그런데 본 연구의 주요 관심인 위험요인들과 도덕성과의 상호작용효과의 결과는 남녀에 따라 다르게 나타나 본 연구의 예측대로 남성에서 는 불링피해와 도덕성과의 상호작용효과가 그리고 여성에서는 불링친구와의 접촉과 도덕성과의 상호작용효과가 부(-)적으로 유의미했다. 이처럼 본 연구결과는 사이버불링의 원인은 남녀간에 큰 차이가 없이 유사했지만 사이버불링 위험요인에 대한 도덕 성의 완충작용이 남녀별로 차이가 있었고 남녀에 따라 주 요인별로 완충작용이 다르다는 것을 제시했다.

This study aims to examine gender differences in effects of two risk factors cyberbullying victimization and association with cyberbullying peers for explaining cyberbullying perpetration, focusing on the different buffering roles of morality. This study examines whether the effect of cyberbullying victimization is significant in male and the effect of association with cyberbullying peer is significant in female. In addition, it also examined whether morality significantly buffers the direct effects of two risk factors across gender. Drawing on the analysis of the data from 256 college students, the result shows that the effects of both cyberbullying victimization and association with cyberbullying peers are significant for both males and females. However, we found a gender difference in their moderated buffering effects with morality. It is shown that morality significantly buffers the effect of association with cyberbullying peers for females, while it significantly buffers the effect of cyberbullying victimization for males. We discuss theoretical implications on the gender difference in the buffering roles of morality.
