국내 일개 대학 한국어 어학연수과정 외국인 유학생의 결핵에 대한 인식 및 태도

Awareness and Attitude toward Tuberculosis among Foreign students attending a Korean language Training program at a University in Korea

본 연구는 한국 내 일개 대학의 한국어 어학당에서 학습 중인 외국인 유학생들이 결핵에 대해 가지고 있는 인식과 태도를 파악하기 위해 수행되었다. 세계보건기구(WHO)에 따르면, 결핵은 전 세계적으로 여전히 중요한 건강침해 요인이며, 특히 한국은 OECD 국가 중에서도 결핵 발생률이 높은 편이다. 본 연구는 2024년 10월 17일부터 10월 23일까지 충남에 위치한 대학에서 한국어를 학습하는 20세 이상의 외국인 유학생 116명을 대상으로 설문조사를 통해 진행되었다. 연구 결과, 유학생들은 결핵의 전파 경로와 예방 방법에 대해 다양한 지식수준을 보였으며, 결핵 예방에 대한 보건교육의 필요성을 인식하고 있었다. 결핵 예방에 대한 보건 교육의 필요성은 외국인 유학생의 결핵 인식을 높이고 건강을 보호하는 데 중요한 기초자료가 될 것으로 판단된다.

This study aims to understand the awareness and attitudes toward tuberculosis (TB) among foreign students enrolled in a Korean language program at a university in Korea. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), TB remains a significant health concern globally, with Korea reporting one of the highest TB incidence rates among OECD countries. The study was conducted from October 17 to October 23, 2024, targeting 116 foreign students aged 20 and above studying Korean in Chungnam, Korea. Survey results indicated varying levels of knowledge among students about TB transmission and prevention, along with a recognized need for TB preventive health education. The findings suggest that targeted health education could play a crucial role in raising TB awareness among international students and in promoting public health.
