시뮬레이션 실습교육에서 응급구조과 학생의 의사소통능력, 공감능력, 환자안전 수행자신감에 미치는 효과

Effects of Simulation Training on Paramedicine students' Communication skills, Empathy skills and Patient Safety Performance Confidence

본 연구의 목적은 응급구조과 학생의 시뮬레이션실습교육이 의사소통능력, 공감능력, 환자안전관리 수행 자신감에 미치는 효과를 알아보기 위한 단일군 전후설계의 유사 실험 연구이다. 자료 수집은 G광역시 일개의 대학의 응급구조과 2,3학년을 대상으로 구조화된 설문지를 이용하여 2023년 9월부터 11월까지 12주간 운영된 시뮬레이션 교과목에 참여한 50명이었다. 수집한 자료는 SPSS 26.0프로그램을 사용하여 기술통계, 대응표본 t-검정, Pearson상관관계 분석을 하였다. 응급구조과 학생들은 시뮬레이션 실습교육을 적용 받은 후 의사소통능력(t=-3.06 p=.004), 공감능력(t=-4.71, p<.003)와 환자안전 수행자신감(t=-7.85, p<.001)이 통계적으로 유의하게 향상되었다. 이러한 결과를 볼 때 시뮬레이션실습 교육은 응급구조과 학생의 의사소통능력, 공감능력, 환자안전 수행자신감에 대한 효과적인 교육 방법이며, 이를 위해 응급환자의 환자안전 수행능력 향상을 위한 교육 방법으로 시뮬레이션 수업이 필요하다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of simulation training on communication skills, empathy, and patient safety performance confidence of emergency medical service students. The data were collected using a structured questionnaire targeting 2nd and 3rd year emergency medical service students at a university in G Metropolitan City. 50 students participated in the simulation course operated for 8 weeks from October to November 2023. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, paired sample t-test, and Pearson correlation analysis using the SPSS 26.0 program. After receiving simulation training, emergency medical service students showed statistically significant improvements in communication skills (t=-3.06, p=.004), empathy (t=-4.71, p<.003), and patient safety performance confidence (t=-7.85, p<.001). In light of these results, simulation training is an effective educational method for emergency medical students to improve their communication skills, empathy, and patient safety performance confidence. To this end, simulation classes are necessary as an educational method to improve emergency patients’ patient safety performance capabilities.
