국제해사기구(IMO)는 자율운항선박을 위한 MASS Code를 2032년 발효할 예정이다. 그러나 자율시스템 및 자율운항선박에 대한 명확한 개념 정립이 부족하여, 기존의 자동화 시스템과 새로운 자율 시스템 간의 기술적 차이점을 이해하고 분석할 필요가 있다. 이 논문은 자율시스템과 디지털트윈 시스템의 특징과 차이점을 제시하고, 새로운 시스템의 데이터 연계성과 분석 절차의 중요성을 강조한다. 또한 한국선급에서 새로운 시스템을 위한 인증 체계를 마련할 때 V&V 절차와 위험 저감 조치를 제안한다.
The rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology has led to AI systems achieving performance levels equal to or surpassing human capabilities in specific domains, shifting the system paradigm from human-centric to AI-centric. This study addresses the challenges of verification and certification of AI systems that arise during this transition. Unlike traditional deterministic automation systems, data-driven AI systems exhibit non-deterministic characteristics, which do not guarantee consistent results under identical conditions. This reveals the limitations of existing system Verification and Validation (V&V) methodologies and highlights the need for new approaches.
