The application of a systems-thinking approach is essential for addressing systematic ferry safety challenges in Kenya, particularly in Mombasa Channel. This study employs a modified AcciMap framework to analyze the causal factors identified in the 2019 Ferry Safety Inquiry Report, along with other relevant literature. By investigating these factors, we offer strategic recommendations aimed at enhancing ferry safety and rectifying the systemic deficiencies that impede safe ferry operations in Kenya.
