Review and Recommendations for the Study of Bukhansanseong Fortress in the Late Joseon Dynasty

이 글은 조선 후기 북한산성과 관련해서 이루어진 연구 성과를 검토하고, 연구의 진전을 위해 몇 가지 제언을 하고자 작성되었다. 북한산성과 관련해서는 1960년대부터 본격적인 연구가 시작되어 최근까지 많은 연구 성과가발표되었다. 이 글에서는 이를 시기별 연구 추이와 함께 축성 배경과 이념적지향성, 축성 논의, 관리와 운영, 축성술 및 성내 시설 등으로 주제를 나누어검토하였다. 이어서, 북한산성의 관리 및 군사 운영체계에 대한 검토가 필요하다는 점과 북한산성의 변화 모습에 대한 검토가 필요하다는 점 등을 제안하였다

This article aims to review the research that has been carried out on the late Joseon period's Bukhansanseong Fortress and to make some suggestions for further research. Research on Bukhansanseong Fortress began in earnest in the 1960s, and many studies have been published until recently. In this article, the research has been divided into the following topics: the background and ideological orientation of the castle, discussions about building a castle, its management and operation, castle-building techniques, and the facilities within the castle. In addition, it is suggested that a review of the management and military operation system of Bukhansanseong Fortress is necessary, and that a review of the changes in Bukhansanseong Fortress is necessary.
