2021년 3월, 이집트 수에즈 운하는 “에버 기븐(Ever Given)” 화물선의 좌초로 인해 일시적으로 중단되었으며, 수십억 달러의 경제적 손실이 발생하였고, 석유, 천연가스, 제조업, 식품 등 여러 주요 산업의 공급망에 큰 충격을 주었다. 이 사건은 특정 지리적 거점에 대한 글로벌 무역 시스템의 높은 의존성을 드러내었으며, 동시에 글로벌 공급망의 취약성을 보여주고, 각국이 공급망 중단위험에 대해 더욱 우려하게 했다. 본 논문은 수에즈 운하 봉쇄 사건과 국가 리스크 관리 간의 연관성을 탐구하고, 이러한 글로벌 무역 거점의 차단이 국가 경제와 전략적 안보에 어떻게 위협이 되는지를 분석하고자 한다. 본 연구를 통해 글로벌 공급망 위험의 원인과 그에 대한 대응 전략을 모색할 것이다. 마지막으로, 본 논문은 글로벌 무역 시스템의 안정성을 보장하기 위한 실현 가능한 국가 리스크 방지 전략을 제시할 것이다.

In March 2021, Egypt's Suez Canal experienced a temporary disruption due to the grounding of the cargo ship “Ever Given,” resulting in billions of dollars in economic losses and severe shocks to the supply chains of key industries such as oil, natural gas, manufacturing, and food. This incident highlighted the global trade system's heavy reliance on specific geographical hubs, revealing the vulnerabilities of global supply chains and increasing concerns among nations about the risks of supply chain disruptions. This paper explores the connection between the Suez Canal blockage and national risk management, analyzing how disruptions to such global trade hubs threaten national economies and strategic security. Through this study, the causes of global supply chain risks and strategies to address them will be examined. Finally, the paper proposes practical national risk prevention strategies to ensure the stability of the global trade system.
