This study examines the current state of domestic research on persimmon dyeing by reviewing conference papers and theses from the past 20 years through RISS(research information sharing service). The aim is to explore the sustainable application potential of persimmon dye materials in clothing and fashion accessories and to propose practical directions for future research. The findings are summarized as follows: First, the color development methods for persimmon dyeing can be classified into sunlight development, ultraviolet rays development, xenon light development, water development, and heat development. The traditional method, sunlight development, requires significant time to achieve stable coloration and is highly influenced by external weather conditions. Accordingly, alternative approaches are being developed to shorten processing time while ensuring more uniform and reproducible results. Second, persimmon dyeing primarily uses cotton fabrics. Fabrics dyed with persimmon exhibit a YR(Yellow Red) color range due to the tannin components in persimmons. With increased dyeing repetitions and prolonged drying time, the lightness decreases, while the chroma intensifies, resulting in darker yet more vivid colors. However, light fastness is relatively poor, likely due to the deepening of color upon light exposure. Third, persimmon juice-dyed fabrics form a coating layer on the surface, making them stiffer and reducing wrinkle recovery and drapability compared to undyed fabrics. However, abrasion resistance and tensile strength are improved, enhancing durability. Fourth, persimmon-dyed fabrics have been reported to show improved breathability, moisture absorption, water vapor permeability, thermal insulation, antibacterial properties, deodorization, and UV protection compared to undyed fabrics. Fifth, to achieve richer colors, improve stiff textures, and enhance washing and light fastness, combination dyeing or mixed dyeing techniques have been employed. Sixth, there is research on the development of clothing designs such as blouses and dresses using persimmon dyed fabrics and the development of cultural products such as coasters, picture frame accessories, cushions, lampshades, key chains, wallets, and bags. Based on the papers related to dyeing, we proposed the design of high-quality clothing and fashion accessories for the new silver generation by utilizing natural dyed fabrics with functional and natural eco-friendliness to create high added value and provide practical directions for the fashion industry.
