지방대학 입학전형 개선방향에 대한 현장교사 인식 분석: 지방 C대학 사례를 중심으로

The Perception of Teachers on the Improvement Direction of University Admission Procedures in Regional Universities: Focusing on the Case of Local C University

목적 본 연구는 G지역의 특성과 환경적 요소를 반영한 지방대학의 대입전형 설계를 위해 현장교사들의 인식을 분석하여 정책적 함의를 도출하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 방법 이를 위해 G광역시에 소재한 C대학을 연구 대상으로, 대학 소재지 주변인 호남지역을 중심으로 총 334명의 교사에게 설문조사를 시행하였다. 그 결과를 기반으로 지방대학 입학전형 설계 시 고려해야 할 사회환경적 요인과 정부 정책에 대한 현장교사들의 인식 차이를 확인하기 위하여 기술통계와 분산분석을 시행하였다. 통계에서 포착하기 어려운 개인의 세부적 견해와 내면 동기를 확인하기 위하여 서술형 응답을 받았으며, MAXQDA24를 활용하여 텍스트 분석을 하여 주요 주제를 도출하였다. 결과 현장교사들은 지방 C대학이 입학전형 개선 시 고려해야 할 요소로 지역 간 불균형 현상에 따른 지역인재 유치를 위한 전형 설계와 학생부종합전형 운영의 투명성을 가장 강조하였다. 또한, 현장교사들은 지방 C대학의 계열별·전형별 개선 방향으로 계열과 상관없이 학생부종합전형 확대의 필요성을 가장 크게 인식하였다. 텍스트 분석결과로는 5개의 상위범주인 전형 방법, 전형 요소, 메디컬학과, 고교교육 연계, 대학 및 학과 특성화가 도출되었고, 이는 교사들의 배경 변인인 학교 소재지, 학교 소재지 규모, 학교 유형, 학교 규모에 따라 차이를 보였다. 결론 현장교사들은 지역인재들이 수도권으로 유출되지 않고 지역 내 학업을 지속할 수 있는 지역인재전형 설계 등이 우선적으로 필요함을 강조하였다. 이 연구는 현장교사의 의견을 반영함으로써 지방대학 입학전형의 적합성을 높이고, 지역 교육 환경에 맞춘 입학전형을 설계하는데 기여하고자 하였다.

Objectives This study seeks to derive policy implications through an in-depth analysis of field teachers' perceptions, with the aim of designing a college admission system for regional universities that effectively incorporates the unique characteristics and environmental factors of Region G. Methods For this purpose, a survey was conducted with 334 teachers in the Honam region, focusing on C University located in G Metropolitan City. Based on the survey results, descriptive statistics and variance analysis were conducted to identify the differences in teachers' perceptions of the socio-environmental factors and government policies that should be considered when designing the admission procedure for regional universities. To capture individual detailed opinions and intrinsic motivations, which are difficult to identify through statistics, open-ended responses were collected and analyzed using MAXQDA24 to extract key themes. Results Teachers emphasized that, when improving the admission procedure of C University, the most critical factors to consider were designing an admission procedure aimed at attracting local talents in response to regional imbalances and ensuring the transparency of the holistic admission process. Moreover, the teachers recognized the need for expanding the holistic admission process across all academic fields as the most significant improvement direction for C University. The text analysis identified five major categories: admission methods, admission elements, medical school departments, linkage with high school education, and university and department specialization, which varied according to teachers' background variables such as school location, size, type, and scale. Conclusions C University should strengthen its admission procedures aimed at attracting local talents to prevent them from migrating to the Seoul metropolitan area and to encourage them to continue their studies within the region.
