同频异调：论中日青楼类笔记小说的书写差异 - 以《板桥杂记》《柳桥新志》为例

On the Writing Differences of Chinese and Japanese Novels of Courtesan: Taking Banqiao Miscellany and Ryūkyō Shinshi as Examples

본고는 《판교잡기》와 《류교신지》를 대표로 비롯하는 중일 화류계 필기 소설(青楼类笔记小说)의 내용과 작성기법의 차이점에 대해 고찰한다. 여회(余怀)의 《판교잡기(板桥杂记)》와 나루시마 류호쿠(成岛柳北)의 《류교신지(柳桥新志)》는 모두 도시의 화류계에 대한 서술에 초점을 맞추고 있다. 그러나 《판교잡기》는 추억의 형식으로 화류계와 기생의 이미지에 대해 이상화하게 묘사함으로써, 화류계 생활을 찬미하는 작품이다. 한편《류교신지》는 객관적이고 사실적인 태도로 일본 화류계 생활의 진면목을 묘사하며 일본 화류계 제도의 붕괴와 전통 풍속의 소멸에 대해 풍자한 작품이다. 따라서 본문은 《판교잡기》와 《류교신지》의 내용과 작성기법 등 측면에서 두 작품의 차이점을 비교한다. 그리고 중일 문인들이 처한 창작 배경과 두 나라의 화류계 소설의 서술 전통이 다르다는 것은 이러한 차이가 발생한 주요 원인임을 탐구한다. 본 연구를 통해 중국 고전 문학이 해외에 전파된 영향을 파악할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라, 독자들에게 해외 작가들이 중국 작품을 수용하여 재창작할 때 나타나는 공동점과 차이점을 감지하게 하며, 이를 통해 동아시아 한문 소설 발전의 궤적을 더욱 포괄적으로 보여줄 것이다.

This paper examines the differences in writing content and writing techniques between Chinese and Japanese brothel notes novels, represented by Banqiao Miscellany(板桥杂记) and Ryūkyō Shinshi (柳桥新志). Yu Huai’s Banqiao Miscellany and Narushima Ryūhoku’s Ryūkyō Shinshi both focus on the city’s entertainment venues. However, Banqiao Miscellany idealizes courtesans through nostalgic writing, making the work become a work that praised the life of brothel-houses. In contrast, Ryūkyō Shinshi depicts the life of the red-light districts of Edo-period in an objective and realistic writing attitude, and is a satirical work on the collapse of the Japan’s brothel system and the fading of traditional customs. Therefore, this paper compares the differences between the two works from the perspective of writing from the point of view on writing characteristics of Banqiao Miscellany and Ryūkyō Shinshi. The reasons for the differences in writing are mainly the background of the Chinese and Japanese writers and the differences in the writing traditions of brothel novels . Through the above research, it is not only helpful for us to perceive the influence of Chinese classical literature on the spread of overseas, but also for us to perceive the common components and new elements presented by overseas writers when they imitate or re-create Chinese works after accepting them, so as to more comprehensively show the development trajectory of Chinese novels in East Asia.
