대학 이념 기반 교육과정 개선 방안 탐색: 부산가톨릭대학교 사례를 중심으로

Enhancing the Curriculum Based on the Ideals of University: Focusing on the Case of Catholic University of Pusan

본 연구는 부산가톨릭대학교 사례를 중심으로 대학 이념과 교육과정 간의 연계성을 분석하고, 가톨릭 교육 이념을 기반으로 한 교육과정 개선 방안을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 대학 이념과 교육과정의 변천사를 고찰하고, 역량 기반 교육과정의 개념과 그 중요성을 탐구하였다. 특히부산가톨릭대학교 사례를 통해 대학 이념에 기반 한 전공 및 교양교육과정간의 연계성을 살펴보았다. 대학 이념을 교과과정에 구체적으로 적용하는데 필요한 개념은 역량이다. 역량은 대학 이념을 실현하는 매개체이자 학생의 학습 성과를 도출하는 중요한 과정이다. 부산가톨릭대학교의 경우, 통합적 인재양성관리시스템을 활용하여 학생들이 자신의 역량을 스스로 분석하고, 이에 맞는 프로그램을 추천받을 수 있도록 지원하고 있다. 가톨릭대학으로서의 정체성을 구현하기 위해 본 연구는 교육과정 개선 방안으로 가톨릭교육의 정체성을 명확히 하고, 이를 바탕으로 가톨릭 휴머니즘을 실현할 수있는 교육 혁신의 체계를 구축해야 함을 제안한다. 더불어 학내 구성원을 위한 교육 프로그램을 개발하여 지역 사회의 공동선을 구현하는 구체적인 방안을 논의하였다.

This study aims to analyze the linkage between university ideology and curriculum, focusing on the case of Catholic University of Pusan, and to propose improvement plans for curricula based on Catholic educational ideals. To achieve this, the study examines the historical evolution of university ideology and curricula, while exploring the concept and significance of competency-based curricula. Specifically, the study investigates the interconnection between major and general education curricula grounded in university ideology, using the case of Catholic University of Pusan. Competency emerges as a key concept necessary for concretely applying university ideology to curricula. Competency serves as a medium to realize university ideology and plays a crucial role in achieving student learning outcomes. At Catholic University of Pusan, an integrated talent development management system enables students to independently analyze their competencies and receive recommendations for tailored programs. To embody the identity of a Catholic university, this study proposes clarifying the Catholic educational identity as a foundation for constructing an innovative educational framework capable of realizing Catholic humanism. Furthermore, it discusses the development of educational programs for university members and presents concrete strategies for fostering the common good in the local community. The findings of this study contribute to providing a learning environment where higher education institutions practicing Catholic education can help students internalize and practice the values of Catholic education.
