Purpose : This study aimed to examine the effects of humanities literacy and major satisfaction on adaptation to college life among nursing students and to identify key influencing factors. Methods : A descriptive survey study was conducted with 131 nursing students enrolled in universities in K and D cities. Data were collected through an online survey from September 15 to September 30, 2024. The study variables included humanities literacy, major satisfaction, and adaptation to college life, measured using validated scales. Data analysis was performed using SPSS/WIN 23.0, including descriptive statistics, t-tests, ANOVA with Scheffé's test, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression analysis. Results : The mean scores for humanities literacy, major satisfaction, and adaptation to college life were 3.74±0.67, 3.98±0.68, and 3.81±0.52, respectively. Adaptation to college life showed significant positive correlations with humanities literacy (r=.43, p<.001) and major satisfaction (r=.44, p<.001). Multiple regression analysis identified humanities literacy (β=.32, p<.001), major satisfaction (β=.20, p<.001), admission motivation (β=.17, p<.001), and academic achievement (β=.14, p=.025) as significant predictors of adaptation to college life, explaining 35.4% of its variance (F=18.64, p<.001). Conclusion : The findings suggest that enhancing humanities literacy and major satisfaction can significantly improve nursing students’ adaptation to college life. Therefore, educational programs that integrate humanities education, strengthen professional identity, and provide tailored academic and career counseling should be developed to support nursing students’ successful adaptation and long-term professional growth.
