Coffee shops have rapidly expanded and become an integral part of modern culture. However, behind this growth lies significant environmental impacts that often go unnoticed. As the environmental issues gain more attention, the need for sustainable practices in the coffee shop industry becomes more pressing. As consumers are increasingly demanding not only convenience but also environmentally responsible choices, coffee shops are adapting eco-friendly management activities in their business. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the eco-friendly management activities of coffee shops and their financial and non-financial performance outcomes, focusing on the effects and limitations perceived by employees. Furthermore, the study seeks to explore ways in which coffee shops can contribute to sustainable development through environmental practices and to derive insights that can be applied to other industries as well. From June 1st to June 26th, 2024, a survey was administered to managers and employees working at coffee shops in Seoul and the metropolitan area to study the effect of eco-friendly management of coffee shops perceived by coffee shop staff on management performance. As a result of the study, in relation to the impact of eco-friendly management on management performance, resource recycling was found to have no significant effect on financial performance but a positive effect on non-financial performance. Environmentally friendly products and services were found to have a positive effect on both financial and non-financial performance. In conclusion, adopting eco-friendly management in coffee shops not only positively impacts business performance but also serves as a key factor in securing long-term growth and stability through sustainable management.
