There have been many “historical” studies on the compatibility between Buddhism and Confucianism's Middle Way, but there are relatively few ontological arguments based on rational deduction using phenomenological methods. Therefore, this article uses phenomenological methods to delve into the fundamentals and provides logical arguments for the compatibility between Buddhism's Middle Way view based on emptiness and Confucianism's Middle Way view based on benevolence and righteousness in ontology. At the same time, in a deeper exploration of the ontology of existence and the existence of existence, it is necessary to confirm the more subtle and specific categories of comparison between the two middle ways, namely “the being of Dasein” and “the existence of Dasein”. At the same time, the clear confirmation of these categories is based on the purpose based comparison method in ontology. Finally, in terms of grasping the purpose of the two views on the Middle Way, we will compare them and explain how they grasp the existence of the Being to achieve the survival of the Being. Through the manifestation of this logical path, we can illustrate that although the two views on the Middle Way have different purposes, their fundamental interests are the same, so they are fundamentally not opposed.
