『新定牙州誌』의 편찬 과정과 내용 구성

The Compilation Process and Contents of the <<ShinJeongajuji>>

이 글은 1819년경에 편찬된 아산현의 읍지인 신정아주지(新定牙州 誌) 의 편찬 과정과 구성 내용 등을 추적한 것이다. 아산현의 읍지로 신정아주지 편찬 이전에 “구지(舊誌)”로 통칭되는 아술지(牙述誌) 가 편찬되었다. 아술지 는 1742년경에 편찬된 것으로, 이는 아산 지역 사 족의 존재를 부각하기 위해 편찬된 것으로 판단하였다. 1819년 “구지” 인 아술지 를 참고하여서 신정아주지 가 편찬되었다. 신정아주지 는 1819년 아산 현감으로 부임한 윤정식(尹鼎植)의 주도하에, 지역의 이호빈(李浩彬), 홍이도(洪履度) 등이 참여하여 편찬한 것이다. 새로 부 임한 윤정식이 지역의 실상을 파악하기 위한 것으로, 신정아주지 는 다른 지리지와는 다르게 이전 아술지 와 다른 상황을 부기하였다. 아 울러 신정아주지 의 내용에서 특기할 점은, 일부 다른 지역의 읍지와 다르게 인물 관련 기록이 많다는 것이다. 다수의 충신이나 효자, 열녀 등을 수록함으로써 윤리 의식의 제고를 의도하였다. 또한, 다수 인물을 통해서 아산의 역사를 정리하였다.

This article traces the process and organization of ShinJeongajuji, the Eupji of the Asan region, which was compiled around 1819. Asulji, commonly referred to as “old eupji” was compiled before ShinJeongajuji was compiled in Eupji in the Asan region. Asulji was compiled around 1742 and was written to highlight the presence of local elites in the Asan region. ShinJeongajuji was compiled in 1819 with reference to Asulji, the “old eupji”. ShinJeongajuji was compiled under the leadership of Yoon JungSik, who was appointed provincial governor of Asan in 1819, with the participation of Lee HoBin, Hong Yido, and others in the region. The ShinJeongajuji was intended for the newly appointed Yoon Jung Sik to understand the actual situation in the region, and unlike other Eupji, the ShinJeongajuji bookkeeping was different from the previous Asulji. What is also unique about ShinJeongajuji's content is that, unlike Eupji in some other regions, it has many records related to people. By including many loyal subjects, filial sons, virtuous women, it was intended to raise ethical awareness. It also organized the history of Asan through many characters.
