Optimization of Trade Supply Chain Cooperation between Korean and Chinese Enterprises under the RCEP Framework

Purpose - This study examines the impact of Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RECP) implementation on enhancing supply chain cooperation between South Korea and China. It analyzes the role of both countries in the global supply chain within the RCEP framework and explores optimal paths for cooperation. This study aims to identify ways to increase RCEP utilization, boost supply chain resilience and competitiveness, and provide recommendations for future policy and corporate practices. Design/Methodology - Using a multivariate regression model, this study analyzes bilateral trade and macroeconomic data between South Korea and China from 1980 to 2022. It assesses the current state and key factors of supply chain cooperation between the two nations within the RCEP context. This study specifically examines high-tech product supply chain data to identify cooperation patterns, constructs a theoretical framework for optimization through a literature review, and proposes policy recommendations. Findings - The regression analysis reveals that global economic fluctuations, inflation rates, and GDP significantly influence supply chain cooperation. Based on this, this study identifies three primary cooperation models: complementary cooperation, vertical integration, and collaborative innovation. It also suggests optimization strategies, including diversified supplier networks, technological cooperation, and supply chain digitization. Originality/Value - This study highlights key mechanisms a nd valuable factors driving China-South Korea supply chain cooperation within the RCEP framework. It contributes to supply chain management theories, particularly in the context of high-tech industries. Furthermore, the proposed optimization strategies offer practical policy insights and have theoretical and realworld relevance for enhancing China-South Korea supply chain cooperation.
