This study aims to analyze the error patterns of the Korean nominative particle ‘이/가’ and the auxiliary particle ‘은/는’ based on the focused corpus of intermediate and advanced Korean learners in Taiwan, and to suggest appropriate teaching methodology according to the intrasentential factors(IAF) and the intersentential factors(IEF). IAF are influenced by syntactic elements such as verbs, embedded sentences, interrogative types, etc. In contrast, IEF involve semantic and pragmatics factors such as comparison or contrast, definiteness, topic or comment, information, and focus or presupposition. In the focused corpus of Taiwanese Korean learners, IAF was affected the occurrence of errors than IEF, and particle overlapping errors frequently appeared due to interference in Chinese and Korean particle structure. In addition, verb-related errors were the most frequent. In other words, distinguishing between intransitive and transitive verbs, adjectives and verbs are significant factors.
