This study examines the factors influencing the active participation of advanced Korean learners in target language usage contexts. The research employstext analys is to analyze both interview transcripts and written reports from the learners. The analysis, conducted through two distinct methods, identified four key factors: (1) sustained acquisition of the Korean language and culture, (2) network formation, (3) self-development, and (4) emotional factors. Furthermore, a strong correlation between these factors and the respective analytical methods was observed. In conclusion, proactive efforts to achieve learning objectives during the study abroad period are perceived as successful experiences, which, in turn, contribute to continued active participation in the target language even after returning to the learners’ home country.
