This study aims to compare and examine the characteristics of robe structures of various ethnic groups in Mongolia and the ethnic minorities of Northeastern China. This research first organizes the history and dress culture of Shiwei, related to the ancient periods of both regions. After that, the forms of robes worn by different ethnic groups in Mongolia and Northeastern China were studied, analyzing and comparing their structure, fabrics, and patterns. The result shows the Mongolian and ethnic minorities of Northeastern China are connected through the Shiwei heritage, but with each their own history and traditions have developed their own unique garments. The robes of each region reflect the lifestyles, emotions, spirits, and lives of the people that wore them. In other words, each group developed garment structures and used materials optimized in practicality and functionality for their lifestyles. The patterns and colors of the garment display differences in the emotions and spirit of each group. Although the basic structures of robes in Mongolia and Northeastern China are similar, differences can be observed in detailed composition, production methods, colors, and patterns. These variations indicate that robes have developed distinct structural characteristics influenced by the natural environment and socio-cultural changes in each region.
