북한이탈주민의 직업 정체성 형성 고찰 : Charmaz의 구성주의 근거이론 접근

A Study on the Occupational Identity Formation of North Korean Defectors : Charmaz's Constructivist Grounded Theory Approach

본 연구의 목적은 북한이탈주민들이 남한 사회에서 직업 활동을 통해 나타나는 직업 정체성의 현상과 맥락, 원인, 조건, 결과, 정황성 등을 9명의 연구참여자를 통해 분석하고, 이들의 직업 정체성 강화를 위한 정책에 대한 실천적인 제언을 도출하는 것이다. 연구방법으로는 Charmaz가 제안한 구성주의 근거이론을 적용하였다. 연구 결과의 함의는 북한이탈주민들이 직업 활동을 통해 일 자유의지를 발현하며, 자신들이 북한이탈주민의 역할 모델이라는 책임감 속에서 직업 정체성이 형성된다는 점이다. 이를 통해 북한이탈주민들의 직업 정체성 형성과정에서 자기 주도적인 직업능력 강화를 비롯하여 긍정적인 심리적 자본이 중요한 영향을 미친다는 시사점을 도출할 수 있었다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 첫째, 북한이탈주민 정착 지원 기관에서 직업 윤리 및 가치, 이타적 직업의 의미를 강조하는 교육의 필요성, 둘째, 북한이탈주민들이 자신의 직업적 일 자유 의지를 발현할 수 있도록 삶의 의미 추구와 직업 소명 의식을 강화해야 한다고 주장한다. 셋째, 괜찮은 일자리 확보를 위한 교육 훈련의 필요성도 강조된다.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the process of forming occupational identity of North Korean defectors through nine research participants and to provide practical suggestions for strengthening their occupational identity. Approaching with Charmaz's constructivist research method, it was possible to derive the implication that North Korean defectors' occupational identity through occupational activities is formed from their free will to work and their sense of responsibility as role models for North Korean defectors, and that self-directed occupational ability enhancement and positive psychological capital have a significant effect on the process of forming occupational identity. Based on these results, first, it is argued that institutions that support the settlement of North Korean defectors need education that emphasizes occupational ethics, values, and the meaning of altruistic occupations. Second, it is argued that it is necessary to strengthen the pursuit of meaning in life and occupational calling so that North Korean defectors can express their occupational free will. Third, it also emphasizes the need for education and training to secure decent jobs.
