AI 시대를 맞이하여 인류 사회의 삶과 행동양식은 근본적인 변화에 직면한다. 이제 세상은 AI 이전과 AI 이후로 구획될 것이다. 21세기에 접어들면서 제창된 제4차 산업혁명론은 그 실체가 과연 정보사회로 상징되는 20세기 후반에 제기된 제3차 산업혁명과 본질적인 차이가 무엇인가에 대한 의구심은 AI시대로 확신을 가지게 한다. AI시대에 이를 적극적으로 규제하려는 일련의 법제가 등장한다. 유럽연합의 AI규제법이 대표적이라 할 수 있다. 하지만 AI의 발전에 법이 능동적으로 대응하는 데에는 한계가 따르기 마련이다. 바로 그런 점에서 이제 인류는 인류사회 전체의 안전과 행복을 담보하기 위한 AI법제의 정립과 더불어 인터넷시대에 제기되었던 네티켓(netiquette) 이상의 차원에서 “AI 에티켓”을 정립하는데 힘을 모아야 할 때이다. 자칫 AI 기술의 발전이 인류의 삶 그 자체를 파괴할 수도 있기 때문이다. 범용AI의 비약적인 발전이 이러한 우려를 더욱 현실화시킨다. 하지만, 동시에 AI시대에 제기되는 부작용에만 골몰하다보면 자칫 그 발전의 흐름을 잃어버릴 수도 있다. 이에 부작용을 최소화하면서 이를 긍정적으로 활용할 방안을 찾아야 한다.

The European Union’s AI regulation law is a representative example. However, there are bound to be limitations to the law’s active response to the development of AI. In that sense, it is time for humanity to join forces to establish AI laws to ensure the safety and happiness of the entire human society, as well as to establish “AI etiquette” beyond the netiquette raised in the Internet era. This is because the development of AI technology can destroy human life itself. The rapid development of general AI makes this concern more real. However, at the same time, if we focus only on the side effects raised in the AI era, we can easily lose the flow of development. Therefore, we must find a way to utilize it positively while minimizing the side effects.
