戴维·佩珀的生态社会主义思想是西方生态学马克思主义的重要组成部分，通过对资本主义生态危机的批判提升到对资本主义制度与生产方式的批判，提出了生态社会主义的新设想，为学界研究资本主义生态危机提供了新视角。而社会主义生态文明与生态社会主义相比较有其独特的创新性、超越性与进步性，不仅继承发展了马克思主义生态观，而且超越了生态社会主义的改良范畴，在审视资本主义生态危机的同时开辟出一条生态文明建设的新路，致力于实现人类与自然的和谐共生。

David Pepper’s ecological socialism ideology is an important component of Western ecological Marxism. By criticizing the capitalist ecological crisis and elevating it to criticizing the capitalist system and production methods, he proposed a new idea of ecological socialism, providing a new perspective for the academic community to study the capitalist ecological crisis. Compared with ecological socialism, socialist ecological civilization has its unique innovation, transcendence, and progressiveness. It not only inherits and develops Marxist ecological views, but also goes beyond the scope of ecological socialism improvement. While examining the capitalist ecological crisis, it opens up a new path for ecological civilization construction, committed to achieving harmonious coexistence between humans and nature.
