예이츠의 캘버리 는 코러스를 흥미롭게 사용하고 있는 예수 수난극으로 독특한 극이다. 예이츠는 적정수준으로 코러스 사용의 전통적인 방법에 의존하지만 전통적인 코러스 사용 방법 보다는 노래와 사건들이 긴밀하게 연결되어 있다. 노래에서 새의형상화는 극의 세계에서의 주관성과 객관성에 대한 해석에 새로운 차원을 제공한다.
Yeats’s Calvary is a unique Passion play with an interesting use of chorus. Yeats resorts to the traditional way of employing the chorus to a certain extent, but the meanings of the songs and the action in it are more intricately connected than in traditional drama. The imagery of the birds depicted in the songs offers another dimension to the interpretation of the subjectivity and objectivity of the play’s world.
