대답말 감탄사의 담화 기능 연구

A Study on the Topic-Related Functions and the Speech-Related Functions of the Answer Words Exclamation

본고는 한국어 대답말 감탄사 ‘응-아니’, ‘그래-아니야’, 그리고 ‘네/예-아니요’가 구어 대화에서 나타내는 담화표지 기능을 연구하였다. 화자의 긍정적 대답을 나타내는 감탄사 ‘응’은 화제 시작, 화제 전환, 화제 종결 기능을 모두 가지는 반면, 부정적 대답을 나타내는 감탄사 ‘아니’는 화제 전환 기능만 가지고 있다. 화자의 발화 전략 관련 기능 중, 부정적 대답말 감탄사는 발화 수정 기능을 가지지만, 긍정적 대답말 감탄사는 가지지 않는다. 감탄사 ‘그래-아니야’의 경우는 ‘응-아니’와 비슷한 양상이 나타난다. ‘그래’는 화제 시작, 화제 전환, 화제 종결 기능을 모두 가지며, ‘아니야’는 화제 시작과 화제 종결 기능을 가지지 않는다. 또한 발화 수정 기능은 부정적 의미 요소를 가지는 감탄사 ‘아니야’만 나타낸다. 감탄사 ‘네/예-아니요’는 ‘응-아니'가 가지는 화제 시작, 화제 전환, 화제 종결, 청자 관심 유도, 시간 벌기, 발언권 가져오기 기능은 동일하게 가진다. 그리고 발화 장소와 화자 간의 관계에 따라 사용하게 된다. 부정적 대답말 감탄사 ‘아니요’는 ‘아니’와 달리 담화표지로 간주하지 않기 때문에 화제 시작, 청자의 관심 유도 등 담화표지 기능을 가지지 않는다.

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the functions of the Korean answer exclamations ‘eung-ani’, ‘geulae- aniya’, and ‘ne/ye’-aniyo‘ in spoken language. The exclamation ’eung‘, which represents the speaker's positive answer, has all the functions of starting, changing, and ending the topic, while the exclamation ’ani‘, which represents the negative answer, has only the function of changing the topic. About function related to speech strategy, the negative answer exclamation has a speech correction function, while the positive answer exclamation does not. exclamation ‘geulae-aniya’ show a similar pattern to ‘eung-ani’. ‘geulae’ has the functions of starting, changing, and ending the topic, and ‘aniya’ does not. In addition, the utterance correction function only represents by the exclamation ‘aniya’ with negative semantic elements. The exclamation ‘ne/ye-aniyo’ has the same functions of ‘eung-ani’ for starting, changing, ending the subject, paying attention, buying time, and bringing the right to speak. It is used according to the relationship between the speakers. In the case of a negative answer exclamation ‘aniyo’ is not regarded as a discourse mark, unlike ‘ani’, so it does not have a discourse mark function such as starting a topic or paying attention.
