This paper’s focus is on the in-depth exploration of symbolic awareness in children’s games, starting with an introduction to the significance of studying it in games, highlighting its role in children’s cognitive development, language acquisition, and social-emotional growth, and by integrating relevant theories like Piaget’s cognitive-development theory and Vygotsky’s sociocultural theory to analyze its manifestations, development process, influencing factors, and educational implications, revealing through a combination of literature review, case studies, and observations that it is a complex and dynamic process closely related to children’s daily experiences, cultural backgrounds, and interactions with the environment, with understanding and promoting it able to provide valuable insights for early childhood education and the design of educational games.
