A case of incidental right maxilla brown tumour and radiological confirmation of osteitis fibrosa cystica as a result of primary hyperparathyroidism managed with parathyroidectomy, which complicated with post-operatively with hungry bone syndrome. The case exhibits the traditional finding of osteitis fibrosa cystica. The high degree of clinical suspicion of browns tumour is demonstrated which has prevented invasive procedures, as demonstrated in other case reports. Furthermore, the brown tumour was treated with parathyroidectomy along with the patient’s other systemic complications. Literature review confirms the systemic manifestation of hyperparathyroidism, which needs to be investigated and managed accordingly. Medical modalities of managing hyperparathyroidism are limited and surgery is currently the most efficient treatment option for managing primary hyperparathyroidism and its systemic complications.
