Purpose - The purpose of this study is to compare and analyze the effects of FTAs on the export of materials and parts from the Korean new renewable energy industry (NREI) to large economic zones, and to identify hierarchical policies for export expansion. Design/Methodology/Approach - This study examines Korea’s FTA effects on the EU, the United States, and China by applying the CCR, FMOLS, and DOLS techniques to monthly data from January 2000 to December 2023. It also presents hierarchical policy implications using the Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchical Process (FAHP) technique. Findings - The results indicate that the FTA effect is most weakened in the Chinese market, while it is maintained in the EU and US markets. The FAHP results highlight the importance of systematically linking the NREI value chain, fostering technological innovation, and enhancing high value-added production. Research Implications - In order to strengthen the value chain and high added value of domestic NREI, specialized professional manpower, detailed financial support, and technical support linked to key industries must all be strengthened. In addition, it is necessary to foster leading companies related to NRE materials and parts, establish global brands, and diversify global supply chains. Additionally, support for NRE materials and parts companies should be strengthened to address the challenges posed by non-tariff barriers, and trade information must be provided to mitigate uncertainties in climate and trade policy.
