Purpose - The purpose of this study is twofold. First, it examines the mediating effect of self-efficacy on the relationship between learning orientation and entrepreneurial intention among Korean employees. Second, it investigates the moderated mediation effect of entrepreneurial experience on the relationship among learning orientation, self-efficacy, and entrepreneurial intention. Design/Methodology/Approach - Empirical research was conducted through the analysis of 326 questionnaires collected via online survey. Mediation analysis was conducted using Baron and Kenny’s (1986) three-step approach and Hayes’ (2017) PROCESSM Model 4. Moderation effects were analyzed using hierarchical regression analysis and PROCESS Macro Model 1. Finally, PROCESS Macro Model 8 was used to test the moderated mediation effect. Findings - The empirical results analyzed in our study are as follows: First, self-efficacy was found to have a partial mediating effect on the relationship between learning orientation and entrepreneurial intention. Second, entrepreneurial experience also has a negative moderating effect on the relationship between learning orientation and entrepreneurial intention. This was found to be indirectly transmitted through self-efficacy, as the moderating effect of entrepreneurial experience exists between learning orientation and self-efficacy. Research Implications - To enhance entrepreneurial intentions, it is crucial to improve learning orientation and self-efficacy. Furthermore, enhancing learning orientation is more effective in increasing entrepreneurial intentions among Korean employees with limited entrepreneurial experience as compared to those with extensive experience.
