Factors Affecting the Quality of Nursing Work Life among General Hospital Nurses

Purpose : This study aimed to identify the relationships between practice environment of nursing work, adversity quotations, empowering leadership and quality of nursing work life. Method : Participants were 243 nurses working at three hospitals with more than 300 beds in Gyeonggi Province. The data were collected from June 7 to 30, 2022. Results : Quality of nursing work life was positively correlated with their practice environment of nursing work, empowering leadership, and adversity quotation. The factors affecting the quality of nursing work life were found to be practice environment of nursing work, empowering leadership and adversity quotations which explained 45.0% of the variance. Conclusion : To improve the quality of nursing work life, positive changes in practice environment of nursing work and appropriate leadership by nursing managers are needed. To increase empowering leadership, efforts to change leadership education and practice environment of nursing work are necessary.
