도시재생 활성화를 위한 공공미술 사례 연구 - 서울시 홍제유연, 도킹서울, SAM932프로젝트를 중심으로

A Case Study of Public Art for the Revitalization of Urban Regeneration : Seoul, Hong Je-yeon, Docking Seoul, and SAM932 Project

본 연구는 서울에서 시행된 공공미술 프로젝트 중 도시재생에 기여한 사례인 ‘홍제 유연’, ‘도킹 서울’, ‘SAM932 프로젝트’를 분석하여, 공공미술이 도시재생에 미치는 영향을 다각적으로 고찰하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 통해 첫째, 공공미술이 도시의 다양한 요소들과 조화를 이루며 지역 전체의 가치를 향상시키는 역할을 하는지, 둘째, 지역의 아이덴티티와 가치를 대중에게 효과적으로 전달하는지, 셋째, 기획 단계에서부터 지역 주민들의 참여가 어떻게 이루어졌는지를 살펴보고자 한다. 또한, 공공미술이 정치적, 인종적, 사회적 형평성을 고려하는 방식과 그 공통점을 분석함으로써, 향후 도시재생에서 공공미술이 더욱 효과적으로 활용될 수 있는 방향을 제시하는 데 연구의 목표를 둔다.

This study aims to comprehensively examine the impact of public art on urban regeneration by analyzing three public art projects implemented in Seoul: Hongje Yuyeon, Docking Seoul, and the SAM932 Project. Through this analysis, the study explores three key aspects: first, whether public art harmonizes with various urban elements to enhance the overall value of the area; second, how effectively it conveys the identity and value of the community to the public; and third, how local residents were engaged in the project from the early planning stages. Furthermore, by analyzing how public art considers political, racial, and social equity and identifying commonalities between them, the study aims to propose strategies for the more effective utilization of public art in future urban regeneration projects.
