In 2011, shadow play art was included in the first batch of China's intangible cultural heritage list, signifying its profound cultural significance and academic value. From the perspective of protecting intangible cultural heritage, it is crucial to study the historical background, cultural connotation, methods of inheritance, and innovative approaches related to shadow play art. By centering on shadow play art, we can infuse its characteristic figures with elements derived from Jilin Province's unique ice and snow culture, thereby generating innovative perspectives for their expression in the contemporary era. This research delves into the spiritual connotation, cultural content, visual representation, and interactive experience associated with shadow play art. It aims to conduct a regional reconstruction of character images within this artistic form to explore new avenues for its innovative application in modern times. Ultimately, this study seeks to provide valuable references for the protection and transmission of relevant aspects of cultural heritage.
