Hainan Province is rich in ethnic music resources, and the design and implementation of music courses at the primary and secondary education levels in ethnic areas not only affect the aesthetic development and ethnic sentiments of local children but also directly reflect the current state of the promotion and inheritance of local ethnic music. This study conducted a survey of primary and secondary school students and teachers in nine counties and cities of Hainan's ethnic areas, comprehensively assessing the status of music courses in these schools. The findings were analyzed in detail, identifying the main issues currently faced. Based on the key challenges identified, corresponding countermeasures and recommendations were proposed.
