The Horqin Shamanic Culture and the Nuo Culture of Northern Guizhou are treasured gems of China's folk traditions. Amid the impacts of globalization and modernization, their inheritance and development face both challenges and opportunities, necessitating in-depth research to preserve their roots and amplify their value. This study analyzes the unique characteristics, values, origins, evolution, and functional connotations of Horqin Shamanic Culture and Northern Guizhou Nuo Culture, while deepening the application of semiotics in cultural research. By comparing their similarities and differences in shamanic functions, divine costumes, ritual implements, and other aspects, it aims to provide guidance for cultural preservation and support the formulation of effective strategies. Employing a combination of literature review to trace theoretical origins, comparative analysis to highlight differences and commonalities, and case studies to strengthen empirical evidence, this study establishes a rigorous research framework. The two cultures exhibit distinct features in their origins, functions, and ritual artifacts, while facing both opportunities and challenges in contemporary society. To ensure their continued vitality, it is essential to leverage cultural tourism, intangible heritage initiatives, and technological advancements, fostering innovative mechanisms for inheritance, expanding dissemination pathways, and enhancing their cultural dynamism and international influence.
