In modern society the standards by which consumers view companies and brands are changing. There are more cases where they choose products based on their value for money rather than the cost-effectiveness of the products they want to consume. In addition to reasonable quality and appropriate price, consumers have begun to purchase products by considering the non-economic ethics of companies. Consumers are starting to prefer products manufactured by companies that adhere to social ethics over cheap products from companies that neglect their ethical responsibilities. This social phenomenon is having a significant impact on the management and existence of companies, and domestic and foreign furniture companies are gradually paying attention to corporate social responsibility such as environmental protection, fair trade, and employment of workers in line with these changes. Most major global companies are setting a major goal of ‘Sustainable development’ and are trying to plan and implement ESG management that includes the environment, society, and governance among the non-financial elements of companies. The purpose of this study is to propose measures related to ESG management elements for ‘The direction that prospective and early-stage furniture start-ups should take to grow into sustainable and ethical companies.’
