This study examines writing activities in 3rd- and 4th-grade primary English textbooks under the 2022 Revised National Curriculum. It analyzes activity levels, types, and language skill integration. In 3rd grade, writing focuses on letters and words, mainly through controlled activities like copying and tracing. By 4th grade, writing expands to phrases and sentences, incorporating more guided and free writing. Integration with speaking and reading increases across grades. Controlled writing remains dominant, but the balance shifts toward guided and free writing as students progress. Listening-writing integration is strongest at the letter and word levels, speaking-writing at the phrase level, and reading-writing at the sentence level. The findings emphasize the need for a structured transition from controlled to independent writing, integrating multiple language skills.
