본 연구는 미술대학의 회화실기 수업 교육과정으로써 고전 회화기법 교육의 필요성과방향성 고찰을 목적으로 한다. 고전 회화기법은 16세기 고전 아카데미 교육과정을거치면서 재료 및 기법에 관해 정립되기 시작했고 현대 회화표현기법의 토대를 이루었다. 그러나 현재, 이 부분은 현대회화의 자유분방한 표현성과 작품론에 가려져표현기법의 중요성을 인식하지 못하는 경우가 많아지면서 국내 교육과정에서는 찾아보기가 어려워졌다. 본 연구는 미술교육을 체계적으로 정립하기 시작한 16세기중반 유럽 미술 아카데미와 21세기 해외 미술대학이 적용하고 있는 고전 회화기법교육과정의 연계성을 분석한다. 그리고 국내 미술대학 ‘기초회화’ 실기 수업에 템페라기법 적용 수업사례를 통해 고전 회화기법 활용에 대한 교육적 효과를 분석하였다. 본 연구는 미술대학의 고전 회화기법 활용 수업사례분석을 통해 ‘시대적 사회인식’, ‘매체의 정확한 인식과 기법 운용력’, ‘기법 활용을 통한 표현성 확대’ 등이신장하는 교육적 효과를 알 수 있었다. 이와 같은 연구결과를 바탕으로 국내 미술대학의 실기 교과 과정에 접목한다면 그동안 부족했던 재료 및 기초회화 기법의서양화실기능력을 배양할 수 있을 것이다.
This study aims to examine the necessity and direction of classical painting techniques education within the curriculum of painting practice courses in art colleges. Classical painting techniques began to be systematized during the classical academy curriculum of the 16th century, forming the foundation of modern painting expression techniques. However, these techniques are often underappreciated in contemporary education due to the emphasis on the expressive freedom and theories of modern painting, making it difficult to find in domestic curricula. This research analyzes the connections between the art academies of mid-16th century Europe, which began establishing systematic art education, and the classical painting techniques curricula implemented in 21st-century international art colleges. Furthermore, it evaluates the educational effectiveness of classical painting techniques through case studies of tempera technique applications in “basic painting” practice classes at domestic art colleges. Through analyzing the case studies of classical painting techniques utilized in art college classes, the study identifies educational benefits such as enhancing “historical and social awareness,” “accurate understanding of mediums and technical proficiency,” and “expanding expressiveness through technique utilization.”
