G사이버대학 교양교육과정 수요자 요구분석

Needs Analysis of the Liberal Arts Education Curriculum at G Cyber University

본 연구는 G사이버대학의 교양교육과정을 개선하기 위해 문헌 분석을 통해 교양교육과정 체계 개선안을 도출하였으며, 이에 대해 교육수요자인 재학생을 대상으로 현재 교양교육과정에 대한 만족도 조사, 개선된 교양교육과정 체계에 대한 만족도 조사를 수행하였다. 현재 교양교육과정에 대한 만족도 조사의 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 학생들은 교양교육과정에 전반적으로 만족하였으나 새로운 학문 발전의 반영, 과목 다양성, 이수 체계의 체계성은 다소 낮은 만족도를 보였다. 이는 인문학뿐만 아니라 4차산업혁명과 새로운 학문 발전에 관심이 많고 다양한 과목에 대한 학습 동기가 높은 성인학습자들의 지속적인 요구조사를 통한 과목 다양성을 확보하고, 개발한 이수체계를 지속적으로 고도화하는 노력이 필요함을 보여준다. 둘째, 학생들은 현재 운영 중인 교양 과목 수의 적절성, 이수 기준에 대해서도 대체로 만족하는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 교양 과목 수를 양적으로 늘리기보다 성인학습자의 특성을 고려하여 지속적인 수요조사를 반영한 교육과정 개선이 필요하며, 이수 기준 또한 학생들의 자발적 선택을 통해 수강하도록 하는 것이 바람직함을 보여준다. 셋째, 한국교양기초교육원 표준모델을 반영하여 개선한 교양교육과정 체계에 대해서도 대체로 만족하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 특정 수업에 참여한 학생들을 편의표집하였는데, 향후 연구에서는 전체 수강생을 대상으로 만족도 조사를 시행하고, 교수의 만족도 조사의 인식 차이를 분석해봄으로써 다각적인 관점에서의 교양교육과정 개선방안이나 질관리 방안을 논의할 필요성이 있다.

This study aimed to improve the general education curriculum at G Cyber University through literature analysis. A satisfaction survey was conducted among students regarding the current and improved curriculum. Key findings are as follows. First, students were generally satisfied but showed lower satisfaction with reflecting academic advancements, course diversity, and a structured completion system. To address this, new courses should incorporate emerging disciplines, course diversity should be expanded through continuous surveys, and the completion system should be enhanced. Adult learners, interested in the humanities and emerging fields, highlight the need for ongoing curriculum updates. Second, students found the number of courses and completion criteria appropriate. Instead of increasing courses, improvements should reflect adult learners’ needs. Allowing voluntary course selection would be beneficial. Third, students were also satisfied with the revised curriculum based on the Korean Institute for General Education’s model. This study used convenience sampling, focusing on specific students. Future research should include all students and compare faculty perspectives to discuss curriculum improvement and quality management from multiple viewpoints.
