일본의 도쿄 일극집중에 관한 고찰

A Study on Japan’s concentration on Tokyo

일본은 도쿄의 일극집중으로 인해 지방도시의 소멸이 더욱 가속화되고 국가소멸 단계로 진입이 우려되고 있는 상황이다. 본 연구는 이러한 일본의 도쿄 일극집중의 원인과 문제점에 대해 살펴보았다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 도쿄 일극집중의 원인은 첫째, 젊은 층 인구의 유입증가와 여성의 고학력화, 둘째, 대학의 도쿄집중 현상, 셋째, 양질의 일자리와 취업의 용이성, 넷째, 편리한 생활 인프라 등을 들 수 있다. 이러한 도쿄 일극집중으로 발생되는 문제점으로는 첫째, 지방도시 소멸의 가속화, 둘째, 국가 소멸단계로의 진입, 셋째, 주민생활 및 도시 환경의 악화, 넷째, 재해 시 위험 증가 등을 들 수 있다. 본 연구는 문헌을 중심으로 진행된 연구로서 그 한계가 있으며, 향후 도쿄 일극집중의 원인과 문제점에 대한 사례연구와 해결방안 및 정책 등에 대한 추가적인 후속연구가 필요한 것으로 생각된다.

In Japan, the extinction of regional cities is accelerating due to the concentration of Tokyo, and there are concerns that the country may enter a phase of national extinction. This study examined the causes and problems of the concentration of Tokyo in Japan. The results of the study are as follows. The causes of the concentration of Tokyo in Tokyo include:first, the increase in the influx of the young population and the higher education level of women;second, the concentration of universities in Tokyo; third, quality jobs and ease of employment; and fourth, convenient living infrastructure. The problems caused by the concentration of Tokyo in Tokyo include: first, the acceleration of the extinction of regional cities; second, the entry into a phase of national extinction; third, the deterioration of residents’ lives and the urban environment; and fourth, the increase in risk in the event of a disaster. This study was conducted based on literature, so it has its limitations. It is thought that additional follow-up studies on case studies of the causes and problems of the concentration of Tokyo in Tokyo, as well as solutions and policies, are necessary in the future.
