『난중일기』에 나타나는 물자(物資)의유통 양상에 대한 연구

A Study on Distribution of the Various Goodsin Nanjung-Ilgi

본고는 그동안 『난중일기』 연구에서 상대적으로 주목을 덜 받아 온 물자 유통의 양상을 살펴보는 데 초점을 맞추었다. 『난중일기』에 등장하는 물자들은 음식과 식료를 비롯하여 군사용 물자와 공·사적인 관계의 유지를 위한 공물(貢物)과 선물 및 일상생활용품, 기타 전시노획품 등으로 나뉜다. 『난중일기』 속의 물자들은 다양한 유통 양상을 띤다. 수군 진영 내부에서는 사람과 진영 사이의 공·사적인 관계에서 상호 지원과 꾸어주기, 호혜적 교환 등의 방식으로 물자들이 유통되었다. 수군 진영 외부로는 임금과 조정의 대신, 파견 관헌, 중앙기관, 지역사회, 이순신 장군의 본가, 그리고 명나라 군대와 왜군 진영 등을 포함한다. 수군 진영과 임금 간에는 진상품과 하사품의 관계로 유통되며, 조정의 대신들이나 파견 관료들 사이에서는 선물이나 공물의 형태로 유통되었다. 수군 진영과 지역공동체 사이에서는 징수, 교역, 자발적 지원 등의 형태로 유통되었다. 이순신 장군은 가족과 공동체뿐만 아니라 진중과 지역사회, 나아가 국가와 다국적 군영을 포함하여 다양한 물자들을 합리적, 효율적으로 배분함으로써 모두가 공존할 수 있는 지혜를 발휘하였다.

This paper analyzed distribution of the various goods in Nanjung-Ilgi, not being attended to academic research until now. There are the goods of four parts in Nanjung-Ilgi as followings; foods and foodstuffs, munitions involving military provisions and arms, gifts and etiquette materials for formal or informal relationship, war spoils. In Chosun navy camp, the goods were distributed to one another according to mutual supports and accommodations, reciprocal exchanges through the formal or the informal relations between individuals and navy camps. Between navy camp and a king, the goods were distributed as the presentation and a royal donation. And to the high officer and a dispatched official, the goods were distributed as a tribute or a gift. And between navy camp and local community, the goods were distributed as a form of collection, trade and voluntary support. Admiral Yi Sun-shin show his ability for living together with our all through the rational and harmonious distribution of the various goods.
