생성형 AI 시대 지식정보처리역량 교육의 방향 탐색

Exploration on Educational Direction for Knowledge Information Processing Competency in the Generative AI Era

챗GPT로 대표되는 생성형 AI의 출현에 따라 우리 사회의 지식정보처리 방식에 큰 변화가 발생하고 있으며, 이에 따라 초·중등 교육과정의 목표 중 하나인 지식정보처리역량 교육의 방향에 대한 검토할 필요가 높다. 본 연구에서는 먼저 문제해결을 목적으로 하는 사고의 연속으로서 지식정보처리를 정의하고, 개인의 지식정보처리역량을 결정하는 두 축으로서 개념과 사고의 의미 대한 분석을 수행하였으며, 개념의 질과 사고의 타당성 및 유용성을 중심으로 지식정보처리역량의 의미를 명료화하였다. 이를 바탕으로 (1) 생성형 AI와 효과적으로 협업하기 위한 질문하는 능력과 이를 통해 (2) 새롭고 복잡한 문제를 주도적으로 해결하는 능력을 이 시대가 요구하는 지식정보처리역량으로 제안하였다. 마지막으로 생성형 AI 시대가 요구하는 지식정보처리역량 제고를 위한 우리 초·중등 학교 교육의 방향으로서 (1) 개념의 질적 제고를 위한 빅아이디어 중심 지식 교육, (2) 사고의 타당성과 유용성 제고를 위한 논리적 사고 교육, (3) 지식과 정보를 대하는 태도로서 신중함과 개방적 태도 교육에 대하여 논하였다

With the emergence of generative AI, represented by ChatGPT, significant changes have occurred in the way our society processes knowledge and information. Consequently, there is a growing need to reevaluate the direction of knowledge and information processing competency education, which is one of the key objectives of primary and secondary education curricula. This study first defines knowledge and information processing as a continuous sequence of thinking aimed at problem-solving. It then analyzes the meanings of concepts and thinking as two fundamental pillars that determine an individual's knowledge and information processing competency. By focusing on the quality of concepts and the validity and utility of thinking, this study clarifies the meaning of such competency. Based on this analysis, this study proposes two key competencies required in the era of generative AI: (1) the ability to ask questions effectively to collaborate with generative AI and (2) the ability to take the initiative in solving novel and complex problems. Finally, this study discusses the future direction of primary and secondary education in enhancing knowledge and information processing competency in the era of generative AI. The proposed directions include (1) concept-centered knowledge education based on “big ideas” to enhance the quality of concepts, (2) logical thinking education to improve the validity and utility of thinking, and (3) cultivating careful and open-minded attitudes toward knowledge and information.
